openni-utils software package provides debug and test utilities OpenNI framework, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install openni-utils
openni-utils is installed in your system.
Make ensure the openni-utils package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep openni-utils *
You will get with openni-utils package name, version, architecture and description in a table
